The Vintage Kitchen

For me the kitchen is the heart of the household, so here's some ideas to help create that vintage look.

A lovely 1930's kitchen. Note the patterned floor tiles and modern grey/green cabinet colour.

A selection of kitchen accessories to add individuality

If you can find a statement piece like this vintage cooker stand, then it can add a focal point to the room.

Vintage Wallpaper

If you can find the odd roll of vinatge wallpaper at markets or antiques dealers, this can add a real sense of individuality and purpose to a room. Designs from the 1920's and 30's like these could be used to add a sense of fun to a childrens bedroom, or to create something unique for a bathroom.

This charming pattern was designed by architect Raymond McGrath in the early 1930s. It may have been intended for "Rudderbar" a house for a woman aviator.

Tea Time

I believe in enjoying the small pleasures in life, and whats more enjoyable than making time for afternoon tea. Im talking tea cups and saucers, tea pots and sugar bowls. Vinatge bone china and lace table cloths. Make afternoon tea a ceremony to enjoy!

a nice cup and saucer actually makes the tea taste better i'm convinced! perfect in beautiful coral.
